A Statement Regarding The Berlin Show

By Ginger | August 4, 2009

We are sorry to announce that the proposed show with Buckcherry, at Berlin Magnet, tomorrow August 5th has been cancelled due to illness within the Buckcherry band.

We are unable to rearrange another show in time for tomorrow so I am gutted to say that The Wildhearts will not be playing Berlin at all.

This fills me with great sadness as I’ve been looking forward to playing Berlin for such a long time. We apologise to anyone who was looking forward to this gig as much as we were. We will be back as soon as we possibly can, of that you can be certain.

The Wildhearts Win Kerrang! Award

By Ean | August 3, 2009

The Wildhearts last night received the Spirit of Independence accolade at the Kerrang! Awards in London.

The Wildhearts: at the Kerrang! Awards

Speaking of his heartfelt gratitude for the award, Ginger said; “This is the award that really means something. Keeping music independent has always been really important for us as musicians and as fans of music, and never has this support been needed more than right now. The music industry is finally crumbling under the weight of its own self importance, but music has been suffering for years because of major labels, and because musicians are often afraid to go it alone. Do it yourself, it’s much easier than you think. And
thank you,
Kerrang!, for supporting independent music.”

CJ added; “I feel like I’ve grown up in the pages of Kerrang! and so this feels very cool. And about time too.!”

The Only One single out on 3rd August

By Kris | July 31, 2009

The Only One Single CoverThe Wildhearts are releasing The Only One as the first single from their new album Chutzpah!.

Released via Backstage Alliance to download from iTunes or Amazon, it serves as one of the album’s most rabble-rousing, but also most poppy, moments. Taken from an album that the band describes as ‘unlike any we’ve made before’, lead singer Ginger said:

“I’m really excited about this song. It was written, and is sung by Scott who does an amazing job. I love the fact that the band is getting so confident in handling lead vocal roles, this is something that will make future recordings so much more interesting. This is one of my favourite songs on the new album. I never get tired of listening to it. And the lyrics are classic.”

The single is available from:

iTunes : Amazon.co.uk : Amazon.com : Amazon.de : Amazon.fr
