New Winter Merchandise

By Ean | November 6, 2010

Well folks, the year rolls ever-onward towards Winter, so we’re stocking a few new items in our webstore in an effort to keep you all toasty warm until Spring arrives.Smileybones Beanie, Gloves And Scarf

We’ve got a new slouch beanie, gloves and scarf, pictured – all featuring the Smileybones logo – available separately or in a cash-saving bundle; an embroidered waffle zip hooded top with fleecy thermal lining, and a rather smart looking body warmer, although I believe the fashionista calls it a Gilet these days, with internal lining, a hood inside the collar, and all sorts of drawstrings and zippered pockets.

Following many requests, we’re launching both a Laptop/messenger bag, in black, with a padded inner pouch which will keep laptops (up to about 16″ screen size) safe from bumps, and a regular vintageSmileybones Laptop/Messenger Bag messenger bag in a fetching shade of olive green. Both bags feature the band name and Smileybones logo emblazoned on them.

On the music side of things, we’re pleased to be able to bring the recent double-CD reissues of Earth Vs The Wildhearts, P.H.U.Q., Fishing For Luckies and Endless Nameless – complete with all the contemporary B-Sides, and for all you audiophiles out there who missed it the first time around, we now have the white vinyl double LP edition of 2007’s self-titled The Wildhearts.

Double-CD Album ReissuesIf you didn’t grab one before, there are also a (very) few skatedecks left – so if you want one, don’t hang about because there really won’t be any more of that design once they’re gone – along with the rest of the usual stuff, much of which is still available at sale prices, so click on the Store link, head over there and see if anything takes your fancy, what with Christmas rapidly appearing on the horizon…

Ginger: 10, and 10 (Two) – OUT NOW

By Kris | October 10, 2010

Today sees Ginger release 10, a 16 track compilation album covering the best of the first ten years of his solo work.

Writing of the release in his blog, Ginger says: This album represents ten years of recording outside of The Wildhearts family, but for me it represents even more than that. This album tells the story of the first steps I took alone in creating an independent personality for myself as a writer and as a father.

The artwork and tracklisting, including two fantastic brand new tracks exclusive to this release – No Way Out But Through and This Too Will Pass – are as follows:

  1. Sonic Shake
  2. Yeah Yeah Yeah
  3. How Hard Can You Make It
  4. Mother City
  5. Any Way But Maybe
  6. Black Windows
  7. Church Of The Broken Hearted
  8. Drinking In The Daytime
  9. The Man Who Cheated Death
  10. This Is Only A Problem
  11. When She Comes
  12. I Knew You
  13. Girls Are Better Than Boys
  14. Jake
  15. No Way Out But Through
  16. This Too Will Pass

10 is available as a CD or Download from all the usual outlets, on Round Records, and can be ordered now direct from Cargo.

—–UPDATE—–

Trying to pick just 14 songs from Ginger’s back catalogue for the retrospective album ’10’ was difficult.

So difficult in fact we decided to add another 10 songs to it and give you them for FREE! Follow the link to download the extra tracks in pretty much any format you could desire: even FLAC.

Download Festival

By Kris | June 20, 2010

Ginger had two glorious appearances at the Download festival last weekend. Firstly with the Michael Monroe band headlining the pepsi max stage. See the download site for Michael Monroe photos

The next day in a welcome diversion from the unexpected rain, Ginger and 8 other acoustic guitar wielders set about rousing the crowd with a succession of Wildhearts classics in a format dubbed ‘guitarmageddeon’. The crowd was in fine voice and Ginger commented afterwards on Twitter: “Back from Download. Had WAAYYY too much fun. Acoustic set was an AMAZING experience. Thank you for being so wonderful

The full line up was as follows:

*New Stage Time*

By Ean | May 31, 2010

Well guys, it looks like the show of support to the Download organisers paid off!

As well as the already scheduled appearance with Michael Monroe on Saturday 12th, Ginger is to headline the Jägermeister acoustic stage on Sunday 13th June.

Ginger will be hitting the stage at 7.20pm – accompanied by Billy Morrison, Chris Catalyst, Jase Edwards and Rich Jones (so far…) – for a half hour set of Wildhearts songs that he’s determined will be “the loudest, most OTT acoustic gig ever, or we will have failed. And we don’t fail. Right?”

So you’ve heard the man: bring your best singing voices and expect mayhem and surprises!

Tickets and more information are available from the Download website.
