Download Festival
By Kris | June 20, 2010
Ginger had two glorious appearances at the Download festival last weekend. Firstly with the Michael Monroe band headlining the pepsi max stage. See the download site for Michael Monroe photos
The next day in a welcome diversion from the unexpected rain, Ginger and 8 other acoustic guitar wielders set about rousing the crowd with a succession of Wildhearts classics in a format dubbed ‘guitarmageddeon’. The crowd was in fine voice and Ginger commented afterwards on Twitter: “Back from Download. Had WAAYYY too much fun. Acoustic set was an AMAZING experience. Thank you for being so wonderful”
The full line up was as follows:
- Adam (No Americana)
- Dave Kerr
- Rich Jones
- Billy Morrison
- Ginger
- Jase Edwards
- Chris Catalyst
- Dav (No Americana)
- Tom Spencer
- Denzil (drums)
See the following YouTube links for a few samplers of the mayhem.
There are also photos by Mark Lathem
The setlist included:
I Wanna Go Where The People Go
Suckerpunch
Someone That Won’t Let Me Go
Red Light Green Light
Nita Nitro
Sick Of Drugs
TV Tan
29 times the pain
Geordie In Wonderland

Accoustic set was amazing, actually turned out to be one of my highlights of the whole weekend. Only complaint was that it was way too short! 30 mins in a headline slot!
