There will be drink specials and a late bar and this is a bank holiday Sunday so no work the next day!

star 12 Mar 2009 - Ginger Solo Tour and Street-Team Request

Ginger would like your help to get involved in street-teaming and helping however you can to promote the forthcoming solo tour - please post your thoughts, ideas and offers of help in this thread on the forum

I'd like to establish some groups of people who can help us promote the forthcoming May solo tour by using their imagination. I know our supporters are largely a smart bunch, so it would be a lot of fun to see what cool ideas you could come up with to get the tour promoted and advertised.

We will provide a link where people can download a poster to give to record/music stores and venues in their area, with the nice big space on the design in which to write the nearest venue details.

If there are any other cool ideas that anyone has about how to spread the word about this tour then I would LOVE to hear them all.

People can digitally help from the comfort of their living room, bringing great new ways to promote the shows on the web. While others can take advantage of their crazed social lives by getting the poster stuck in as many shops, bars and clubs as they can.

All help is greatly needed and massively appreciated.

We'll find a super cool way of making it worth your while, whoever you are.

Thanks, in advance, to everyone who will lend a hand in making this tour a success.

Gx

My band will feature Jase Edwards on guitar and vocals, Denzel on drums, Eddie Eyeball (2 Skinny Js) bass and vocals, Dick Decent on piano/keyboards and vocals.
I'll be playing a selection of solo material from SG5 onwards.

star 24 Feb 2009 - New album demo session is complete!

Hey there, Ginger here. Just wanted to let you know that the demos for the new album are all complete.

It's great to be back in NYC again with the family but we had a blast in Finland recording at Seawolf studios. We even managed to drag our new manager, Virpi, out of engineering retirement to record these songs for us.

The styles are very mixed up but this time we've tried to keep the lengths of the songs to 3:30 each. And overall we've succeeded. I think only one song exceeds the 3:30 mark, and that's the last track, complete with run-off riff/melody.

The album is very melodic and very riffy. Ritch described some of the songs as Sky Babies only short. There are some very bizarre arrangements on this album, something I really wanted to happen.

The album was written (and sang) together, however, so there was no guarantee that it would sound anything like the album I wanted to make. I'm delighted to say that it does. I still play a very large part in the writing so it really isn't any huge departure from our style, but I hope to include the use of samples and loops to make the typical Ramones meets Cheap Trick approach brought a little more up to date.

We will be recording proper in April, in Denmark with Jacob Hansen producing. Jacob did the Volbeat album which is currently exploding all over Europe. He gets great, huge sounds. He won't have done anything like this album before, but then no-one has, not even us.

The album title looks set to be 'Chutzpah'.

As well as the song we aired at our show in Helsinki recently, 'The Jackson Whites', some other song titles are 'Some Days Just Fucking Suck', 'You Took The Sunshine Out Of NYC', 'Vernix', 'Plastic Jesus' and 'You Are Proof That Not All Women Are Insane'.

The band are in great spirits and really thrilled to be so personally involved this time around. Expect the album around the end of August.

star 01 Feb 2009 - Wildhearts T-shirts at Saltyrockz.com

Wildhearts fans should check out brand new independent online rock tee shirt store Saltyrockz.com, which features designs from Ginger's mate & Wildhearts T-shirt designer Andy Hunns, including the classic 'Shitsville (NW3)' street name tee and the Rick Nielsen shirt being sported by Ginger.

Saltyrockz.com - the brainchild of former Kerrang!, Metal Hammer and Raw editor Howard Johnson - features all-original band shots from top rock snappers, rock slogans and cool designs, with everything created exclusively for the site by Wildhearts T-shirt designer Andy Hunns.

"I've known Ginger for a long, long time,' explains Johnson. 'We once went to retrogression therapy together years ago. I can't remember what I was in a previous life, but I think Ginger reckoned he was a highwayman! Anyway, when I told him I was launching Saltyrockz with his old Geordie pal Hunnsy he really wanted to support us. And he loves what we're doing! He looks good in his Rick Nielsen shirt, too - topped off with some very fetching deeley boppers!"

"Because we're all rock fans at Saltyrockz every shirt has to be something we'd wear ourselves," explains designer Hunnsy. "That's the acid test for every design."

You can check out the full range of original Saltyrockz tee shirts at the SaltyRockz website
