Long term Wildhearts fan and first time poster!

I've been rediscovering the astonishing Prozaic by Honeycrack, I first heard this back in the day and even have a hazy memory about the subject of 'No, please don't', but I am curious if anyone knows the subject of this song and the link to the band? Also, Samantha Pope? Was she a real person?

Interesting how these songs are now pretty relevant today.
