Album tracks that have never been played live..

Albums, singles, songs and general Wildhearts banter

Album tracks that have never been played live..

Postby Jason_scorching_past » 20th Sep 10, 13:52

I thought I would make a list of the songs I think the band have never played live ignoring any solo/side pand perfomances. My memory is hazy though particularly about the tour in support of 'The Wildhearts' album. Any corrections needed (probabaly a few I imagine)..?

Now edited to show performaces by Ginger/side bands -

V-Day*
Cold Patootie Tango
Be My Drug* - possibly played live on PHUQ tour, played live by Ginger
Naievety Play

Junkenstein - Played live by Ginger's Angry Youth
Soundog Babylon
Now is the Colour
Why You Lie
Thunderfuck - Played live by Ginger

Inglorious - Played live by SG5/other
Soul Searching on the Planet Earth (Different Kind Of Love)
Do the Channel Bop - played live by SG5

Only Love
It's All Up to Me* - played live by Ginger
Out from the Inside

The Sweetest Song
Slaughtered Authors
Inner City Overture
Bi-Polar Baby*
She's All That

*Think they might have played these at some point...

I think they played new flesh at the first gig of the s/t tour, but it got dropped quickly.

I've also seen them do The Hard Way - Octiober 6th, 2007 in the basement at Nottingham Rock City. It was a warm up gig for a few American shows. It was on my birthday :D
and just last week as i was clearing shit from off my shelf...

Shame on Me-I've saw this played live a few times.Supporting The Almighty and on the Full Roar 94 tour certainly.
News of the World-Again i'm sure they played this in Glasgow on the FR 94.

Be My Drug*-Not 100% sure but i think it was played on the Phuq tour.I'm sure i remember that and Caprice being played. The reason i'm remembering is that i didn't really like them at that point.

Inglorious
Schitzophonic*-I'm also sure i seen these but i've no idea if it was The Wildhearts,Clam Abuse or SG5

Get Your Groove on-Another one i think that they played at The Garage.Possibly on the tour where we voted for the setlist.
The Hard Way-Played it at Carling Academy in Glasgow.
Seems such a shame but it kept us entertained

I have recordings of Mood Swings & Roundabouts and Whoa Shit played live somewhere. Whoa Shit was played at Glasgow Barrowlands in 1995 and the end of it was at the start of the Radio 1 Rock Show broadcast of that gig. Incidently, it was hearing that gig on the Rock Show that got me into the Wildhearts.

This is the one I mentioned above, and exactly the same, that live show was the first time I'd heard the Wildhearts and I wore that tape out, the rest is history!

I've edited the main list, totally forgot the anniversary show covers Earth Vs. I've left some of the "not sure" ones up there. I'm thinking they must have played Bi-Polar Baby on the s/t tour but can't remember.

It gets a bit blurry trying to remember if gigs were Ginger solo, Sg5 or Wildhearts sometimes. :)

I lost my tape about 10 years ago when my little sister decided it would be a good idea to record her "yodelling" along to the Coronastion Street theme tune repeatedly over it (I have no idea why). Just recently been given a lovely mp3 version and it's brought it all flooding back! Really good grindy slow version of Caprice on there.

Channel Bop definitely SG5, saw them play it late 2001 or early 2002 at Electric Ballroom in Camden. That was a great gig, The Jellies supported and Channel Bop was absolutely amazing!
