Any good gigs anyone?

General music banter. Gigs, reviews, new bands...

Bombay Bicycle Club in April and Pearl Jam in June.

I am also going to see Avenue Q at that there theatre, and taking my little one to CBeebies live, but they don't really count!

So far got:

Paul Miro next week
The Yoyo's the week after.
Primus (I think - must check whether my mate bought tickets)
Garbage
Pearl Jam

And possibly Download if I can manage the expense.

I'm going to the first show.

It's Andy Cairns, Chris McCormack, Ritch and Stidi. Don't know if it's part of the gig, or something at the aftershow bit. Since they're going to be pushing it a bit to get through two sets of three bands in an evening?

We didn't bother shelling out to watch the January tour as the support was nothing special and didn't justify the cost. This time around though, with Black Spiders and The Treatment, I'm very tempted.

The main gigs in my diary at the moment are: Yo-Yo's, Girlschool/GMT, and Tracer. The Black Stone Cherry/Rival Sons bill is very tempting as well.

i thought they were going to come on to a couple of tracks, a la guests at G's birthday bashes?
I'll be a bit pissed off if its at the after show as i won't be there for that bit (got to get a train back).

Anyway -I'll probably see you there.

The release said:

*************Exclusive new additions to the Yo-Yo's shows!*************
We're very pleased to announce an additional band appearing at the forthcoming Yo-Yo's shows on 17th Feb.

Featuring:
Andy Cairns (Therapy?)
Chris McCormack (3 Colours Red/Gary Numan Official)
Ritch Battersby ( The Wildhearts/Grand Theft Audio)
Stidi (The Wildhearts/Gunslinger)

This lineup will be playing a few surprise cover versions for one night only!

So it doesn't sound like they're appearing as guests.

This year so far looks like;

Bowling For Soup
Simple Plan
Download
Bruce Springsteen
Possibly Sonisphere if the GN'R rumour is true
Possibly Leeds if the Green Day rumour is true

Looks not. Kiss on the Friday, Faith No More on the Sunday, and Queen on the Saturday. Yes, Queen. Well, Roger and Brian with some talent show runner-up on vocals. Apparently he's quite good. I wouldn't know. I am tempted though, singalong-a-Queen at Knebworth?

And in case anybody around here is interested (and you should be you know, live they don't come much better than this bunch), Carter USM are playing another 2 gigs this year, Friday 9th November @ Leeds Academy, Saturday 10th November @ Brixton Academy. To quote, "'All thriller no filler, no mucking about, full on classic, Jim Bob and Fruitbat, drum machine, two guitars, a big feck off lightshow, chuck in a few surprises, treat them like they're the last gigs that we'll ever play' type of shows. The perfect storm."
Tickets on general sale Friday at 9am, or tomorrow if you have a pre-sale link. Like this one - http://www.gigsandtours.com/gat/event.a ... =carterusm - if it works.
Terrified, intoxiciated,
