None too sure of whether there's another thread about this but....

Anyone else stopping in leeds for the gig and if so where, can anyone recommend a good place of refuge?

Yes, at the travelodge which according to the map is a short stagger. Booked a while ago though so don't know what room prices are like now. Try laterooms.com to see what else is about!

Just make sure you book the right travel lodge. Leeds has two. One near the Cockpit, and one near Rios. Handy, huh?! Not sure what the parking is like at them though.

Parking info is a bit vague - 'public car parking available nearby' or something to that effect. Guess we'll figure that art out on the day!

There's loads of parking nearby but I'm not sure about costs and stuff.
Here's a map so you can see Rio's, the travel lodge and the car parks:

If you scroll down there's another massive car park behind the markets.

There is public on-road type parking just over the road from the TravelLodge and Rios. I believe, but these things change each week in Leeds, that it is free after 18:00 and before 08:00 the next day.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en ... 26543&z=16

The vicar lane travel logde is marked on there and the parking is on Lady Lane, Templar Street, Edward Street, Templar Lane and other roads around there.

I *think* (though don't quote me on this, I don't have a car, and live walking distance from the city centre) that the parking mentioned above may be free on a Sunday too, so it may be ok to just park up after 1800 and leave it till you are sober enough to drive home the next day (Trudi, keep Jase off the Mezcal, just in case!).

Now, onto the more important details... would there be a drinking establishment favoured for pre-gig beverages? My vote goes to Santiagos, opposite Rios, if you want to stay really close, or Wrens at the top of the arcade and across the road. Although I can't guarantee I'll be ready in time and be there at all!

any other suggestions?

Has anyone any idea how long the gig will go on til?
Was orig planning to get there and back on the train (from Skipton) but the last train back is about 11:15 ish.
So do any Leeds based Wildies fans reckon I can make it back to the train station?

Cos if that can't be done it means I've gotta drive.
And not drink :(

Thanks for all the parking advice. My normal gig buddies have turned into serious let downs on this one but my lovely wife has agreed to step into the breach and come with me. She is not a fan but does admit to finding 'some of it OK'. However as my penance I am the driver back to Manchester...Boo!

But what a trooper she is anyway!!
