Yes indeedy - it's being done as a straight (not comedy) zombie horror. My company's doing the VFX.

Hope you're a company who gets to do practical effects then. Major and I mean MAJOR turn off for me when gore is done as CG.

Hey G!

Hope all is well with you.

Not sure about 'Nazi Zombies' but what do you think of this?

Was there even need for what looks like little more than a remake of the original?

Anyone who clicks the link, please be aware it's very NSFW so take care y'all!

As a company we don't do physical effects any more (we used to have a model workshop at Shepperton that has blown up Hogwarts and the Houses of Parliament, among others) but that closed a few years ago. But while we're providing CGI and the VFX Supervisor, there are other outfits working on the project too. The movie will have a mix of physical and CG effects; some of it can only be done as CG -- one of the restrictions of shooting in National Trust properties is that they don't want you leaving a mess on the carpet.

Yea, fair point and there can be a clever mix of the elements but the industry is also quite affected by the convenience of not having to do physical blood effects. I personally, often get way out of tune with a movie when they lean too much on the CG blood. Non-horror but remember Ninja Assassin was a prime example. It looked like a cartoon.

Wow, that last message musta got lost somewhere in these dusty old tubes. :eh:

Andy, wasn't expecting that for a second. Proper old school. The least anticipated remake in history, probably - although I have a doozy of a remake I wanna make one day.

Rabies, how would I got about getting an idea (an original one) from being an idea to a movie?
Screenplay first?

Who didn't vacuum the tubes properly? We'll get there, if we all help out.

PM sent. To answer directly, usually a teaser pitch first (you need to sell the concept in about 3 sentences!) then a plot treatment, only then getting to the screenplay once you've got a bite.

Who would I aim the teaser pitch at?

Are there companies that potentially fund great horror movies from simple ideas?

As I said in PM, I'm just the computer guy, and we're normally dealing anyway with the bigger studios who don't like to stray from the beaten path of asinine crowd pleasers. The movie industry is really exactly like the music industry in that respect, so you know better than any of us how that works the "conventional" way.

There are independent production companies out there who are no doubt looking for the right scripts, but getting their attention won't be easy. I'm going to try to get you a couple of names if I can, some of the independents we've done work for, but can't promise anything at all.

Mornin' G,

If you had your interest raised by the American Guinea Pig trailer, waste some precious time here with all manner of vileness from the same well-adjusted individuals responsible.

Happy viewing!

As previously, pretty damn NSFW.

Hi Ginger good to have you here. Totally agree it's much better to fuck off Facebook and its nonsensical naming rules and go back to doing it old school on here :) hello again everyone else it's been a while!

You were asking for recommendations of recent horror films with good endings. One I really enjoyed recently was called Oculus. Borrowed elements of Nightmare on Elm Street and The Shining but woven into a good original concept and with a pleasingly bleak ending.

Here's a trailer:

Can't Watch This?

Hope you enjoy it if you haven't seen it!

Loving GASS and can't wait for the birthday bash :)
