C'mon, man, what's happening with the album
versions? Are tracks cut from the UK release gonna appear on single B-sides or
what? I'm just wondering 'cos I really want to buy your new excellent stuff and
don't know when to buy!
Mark
Calm down, Mark, you're going to give yourself a touch of the un-cools if you're not careful. I quite frankly don't know what the final order of songs are gonna be, or even when they're gonna be released. Which is more reason for buying the Japanese import than ever before. And I'll give you one more reason for free: if you shell out the extortionate price for the import and the album comes out in the rest of the world, goes massive and we become legends, you stand to make yourself a few hundred quid for the import copy. So, y'see, a bargain on every corner. Now buy buy.
What exactly is a black leather mojo?
George Buzzard
A black leather mojo is, funnily enough, exactly what it sounds like.
Are you going to watch the birth of your son, or
are you planning to stay outside handing out cigars?
Jacqueline
The concept of missing the birth of your baby is beyond me. Nothing in this world could keep me away from witnessing the spectacle of something that size coming out of something that size.
Who is Beautiful Thing You about? I've just got it
and I love it. It's probably one of the best Wildhearts songs. I agree with you
when you say that the best songs are on the B-sides. This song
rules!
Jander Klander
That song is about your girl / boyfriend being so cool in your eyes that you must be pretty special to have landed such a gem.
My friend says that Bill Wyman is rumoured to be
joining your new band? Is this right? Is that a good idea? He's got a bit of a
rep you know.
Zander
Your friend is patently mad and should never be left alone with any pets.
When do you think the SilverGinger 5 album will
arrive in the US? I know you probably get heaps of mail about it but I was
wondering because I'm about to order it on import. I'm in the US so I wasn't
sure if it might be coming out soon so I could pay the normal price ($15-25)
instead of $50. It's no big thing because either way I'm buying it as the clips
have me dripping at the mouth for more. Nice job from what I've heard, Ging.
Keep playing, man.
Mike
If I were you (I'd kiss me), I would tape it from someone in Japan, saving yourself a pretty penny and maybe making yourself a friend in a foreign land at the very same time. Don't get me wrong, it will undoubtedly be the greatest $50 you ever spent, so don't listen to me. But in this caring and sharing little community we've got here there's always room for a little expansion of one's interests. So there you go. Now hurry along and spend those coffers wisely.
Are you going to use that middle bit of melody in
the I Wanna Go Where The People Go demo? If you don't, I'm sure I could make
use of it. By the way, I've heard the clips of the new stuff. It's sounding
very good, but it's not very filthy is it? Was that intentional?
Porl
If you ask, then it's already classed as theft, and theft is illegal. If you don't start being a lot less honest you will fail miserably in this business. Happy hunting and good luck! Filthy? Stadium mate, stadium.
You know on the second Tokyo Suits me CD there's a
song with the chorus "Gordon is a moron"? Well, what's it called? It's been
botherin' me for ages.
Neale
Gordon Is A Moron (the song's actually called Jilted John - Ed) was a single back in the late 70s / early 80s by a guy called Jilted John (real name Graham Fellows), who went on to play a comedian alongside the Wildhearts in our first and last acting job (Comedians, which was shown on Channel Four) and is now currently top all round entertainer John Shuttleworth, who incidentally is the funniest thing in the world and should be tracked down and enjoyed by all.
I thought Endless, Nameless was one of the most
forward things I've heard. It's fucking amazing, especially the last track. We
get mashed and listen to it all the time. It's your fault that I'm a full time
pot head. Was Thunderfuck intended as a sign-off track when you wrote it? And
were those little bye byes supposed to be practically subliminal unless you're
caned?
Danny Ross and Zimmy
Iredale
Thunderfuck always had that 'ending' vibe about it, but no one could have foreseen the ending being that abrupt. I guess we must have known, in hindsight. It was a pretty sad song to record, come to think of it.
Who's your manager at present?
Bruce Abuse
I am managed by Sanctuary management - truly the most rock of all management companies to ever have the balls to have worn the badge of rock management in the history of rock, or management, or anything at all for that matter.
Bloodhound Gang - that's class mate, don't you
think? I really love their song Mope (that song with the samples of Metallica's
For Whom The Bell Tolls and Frankie Goes to Hollywood's Relax). What would you
think of a tour including Bloodhound Gang And Clam Abuse?
Jander Klander
I remember loving The Roof Is On Fire or whatever the fuck it was called. Comedy has its place in music. And as a kind of natural selection, or 'cool-cull' if you like, if it gets hugely popular then it's removed pretty quickly in favour of someone newer, funnier or something else-r. Comedy rocks. Selection rocks. But I'm in such a good mood that everything seems to rock today.
Hey, I thought I'd throw this your way: July 10,
Los Angeles at Scream 2000 (a club) - Bubble (with Bam), The Yo-Yo's (Danny),
and the Quireboys. The Dogs are supposed to be in town, and I think Backyard
Babies are still here somewhere recording. The only thing missing is
Ginger!
Chris Cunningham
Unfortunately, I'm recording some new material at the moment with Conny and wouldn't be anywhere else in the world. Sounds like a cool bill, though' I heard American Heartbreak have been added to the night too! Rock will be wholly apparent as a force on the whole of America when that evening takes place. Oh, by crikey yes. And then some. Maybe.
What's the outro to The Wildhearts' Fishing For
Luckies all about? It sounds as though you needed to fill the CD so you decided
to sample yourself laughing.
Michael
Colby
It wasn't me laughing. I'm a rock geezer and I don't laugh. And it wasn't anything more than putting an annoying end on the tail of an otherwise 'time perfect' record. I always wondered if anyone was ever going to have time enough to listen to that rubbish. Guess they do.
1) What's your favourite ingredients on Sushi? Mine
are tuna and eel.
2) How long does it take to put on your make-up when you are having you photo
taken for magazine or CD jackets? Do you do that by yourself?
3) When you come over to Japan next time, what would you like to buy for your
girlfriend and son as souvenirs?
Shiho
1) Tuna, always tuna! And I prefer Sashimi.
2) It takes exactly however much time I have. I always manage to do
something in the time that I'm given.
3) I would buy my girlfriend some cool stuff from Hysteric Glamour, and I'd
buy my baby something from Tokyo Hands. I'd enjoy shopping for their gifts as
much as giving them.
Just a quickie to ask if Super$hit 666 T-shirts are
available.
Naomi
There are no S$666 T-shirts yet, although when they are available there are some amazing designs. Watch this space.
How the fack are you going to reproduce the big
sound of some of the new songs on stage?! Perhaps take a gospel choir on tour
with you? (Yes, yes, yes, go on!) I'll tell you what - I'm 30 and I feel like a
child, I am so excited about this album!
Matt
Oh, Matt, man...MATT! We were rehearsing without a bass player the other day and it already sounds bigger. I cannot wait to give you the benefit of what I have already heard and bask in the pleasure that will ultimately ensue. Bang!
Is there a web page dedicated to Wildhearts and
Clam Abuse guitar tabs?
Steve
Sorry, mate, but unless you're talking cigarettes or acid I'm the worst
person to ask about these 'tab' things. Can't anyone out there help out on this
matter, as I seriously don't know the names of the chords that I use? I can let
you know the most satisfying guitars to smash up, though, should you ever need
it.
Anyone looking for Wildhearts tabs should visit the the Wildhearts Archives -
Ed.)
I recommend the ex-Senseless Things guy, Morgan, as
the bassist of your band. Have you ever heard his groovy bass playing? I really
like it. He seems to be so far a from rock 'n' roller, but I just recommend
him. Or why don't you find a bassist in Loot?
Tsuyoshi Takano
Morgan is a very talented and very busy bass player. I'd love to work with him one day, but not on this particular thang, thank you. Advertising for players just does not work. Trust me, I know this a few times over.
Was the smiley guitar which featured in the I Wanna
Go Where The People Go video good to play?
Choi
It was amazing to play. Like a really good Les Paul... only with a funny face on the front.
Has anyone ever pointed out to you that your
signature has similar characteristics to that of legendary rock 'n' roll outlaw
GG Allin? Have his stage antics got anything to do with your vile attitude
towards my ex-favourite that is pitta bread? Or various allusions to "brown
water"? Is brown water something that used to be brown ale the day before? Is
it true that your friend from Canada stuck a bit of his shit on you during a
show? What's this shit with you all about? I've got a feeling you're going to
be great with nappies. Bless.

Graphoanalyst
Devin has been responsible for many colourful pursuits, the 'smear' being merely one of them. Hey, shit rocks.
Lipstick? Works! Toldja!
Trace
If yer referring to the 'over coloured' pictures gracing the back of the album, that's computer lipstick to you, pal. I still stand justified and correct on this one and I ain't backin' down. Having said that...
